Through NIEA’s Environment Fund, Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust purchased ground-breaking new filtration technology from Oregon, USA.
The equipment is unique in carrying a small static charge which increases its ability to remove tiny microplastic particles from sandy beaches.
The filter screens are capable of filtering large quantities of material and give the public a chance to get involved.
Alongside this, CCGHT team members are collaborating with environmental groups on marine cleans as well as running a series of beach schools for kids to help make them aware of the wonder of our fantastic natural marine environments.
