Ulster Wildlife is running a Shore Thing training day in Whitehead next month. The Shore Thing is a coastal survey project which gives schools, volunteers and local groups the opportunity to help monitor the impact of rising sea temperatures on our rocky shore species. More information can be found at the Shore Thing website: http://www.mba.ac.uk/shore_thing

The training day will provide information on the project, why it’s important and how the data is used. In the afternoon, we will also go out on to the shore to run a survey. This is a great way to improve your coastal species identification skills and learn more about the marine life in your area. The training will also give you the information you would need to run future surveys.

The training will be held from 10:00 – 16:00 on Friday 15th May at the Whitehead Community Centre. This is a free event but limited spaces are available.

To book a place please contact Rebecca Hunter on the number below by Friday 1st May.
