Welcome to the Causeway Coast AONB Key Stage 2 Biodiversity Educational Resource

This digital pack has been developed to provide you with the resources and inspiration to support your pupils’ learning objectives in a fun and informative manner. The pack is available in both PDF and PowerPoint format.

This pack is geographically specific to the Causeway Coast AONB. Each topic within this resource has been developed to support educators of Key Stage 2 primary pupils to engage in their local landscape whilst raising awareness of the natural, built, and cultural heritage of the Causeway Coast AONB.

Within the pack you will find information sheets as well as classroom and outdoor activity sheets based on ten topics relating to the biodiversity of the Causeway Coast AONB.

Biodiversity Loan Case

To accompany the Biodiversity pack, we have developed a Biodiversity Loan Case containing equipment and materials to carry out biodiversity related activities within the classroom, on the school grounds and within the Causeway Coast AONB.  Our Biodiversity loan case can be borrowed for a period of 2 weeks. We provide this service free of charge.

The Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust was established in 2002 and is a charity devoted to protecting and enhancing the unique heritage of the Causeway Coast and Glens area, including (but not limited to) the Binevenagh Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Binevenagh AONB), Causeway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Causeway Coast AONB), Antrim Coast and Glens Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Antrim Coast & Glens AONB) and the Giant’s Causeway and Causeway Coast World Heritage Site (Giant’s Causeway WHS).
