An introduction to moth trapping and species of the North Coast- Online event

December 11, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join CCGHT and Leah from Butterfly Conservation NI for an exciting online event introducing you to moth trapping and species on the North Coast. Leah began moth trapping at university as part of her dissertation project in 2019 and became completely hooked! After completing her master’s degree and finishing a job in ecological consultancy, she became a staff member of Butterfly Conservation N.I in July of this year!

As ‘Species on the Map Officer’, Leah traps priority moth species at various sites along the north coast, as well as trapping weekly in her garden. This talk will give information on moth trapping techniques, identification of some of our more common moth species and some special moths located along our beautiful north coast.

This online talk is part one of a two-part series, with the second being a live, in-person moth trapping event at Broughgammon Farm in April of 2024 (20/04/24). There will be tea and buns served following the April event, so come and see some fascinating moths up close!
