Autumn Seed Harvest Workshop Faughan Valley

Join the Conservation Volunteers and Magilligan Tree Nursery to identify and collect native tree seed from the Faughan Valley Woodlands.

Join the Magilligan tree nursery and Kush from The Conservation Volunteers tree nursery for a day of native tree seed collection in the Faughan Valley woodlands. Learn how to identify native tree species and methods of seed collection, before taking our harvest back to RAPID offices for a practical workshop on how to process and store seed.

Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided, but please do bring your own packed lunch.

Meeting Point: Meeting from 9.30am for a 10am start at the RAPID buildings. Address is 2 Foreglen Rd,Claudy, Londonderry BT47 3TP. Follow brown signs for Brackfield Bawn and its the old school building beside Cumber Church. (Google map link below). Drive up laneway beside church and parking is behind the school building.

What to bring: Be prepared for all weather conditions, so make sure to pack waterproofs and sun protection. Wellies or boots are required as the ground is wet and uneven underfoot, and a change of socks is always a good idea. Equipment for seed collection will be provided, but please do bring your own bags/buckets to take home some seeds, and gardening gloves if required.
