Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust has been working alongside side members of the Giant’s Causeway and Causeway Coast World Heritage Site Steering Group and others to develop a new Management and Action Plan for the Site.
This plan focuses on the UNESCO designated Site, the special qualities and features of this fantastic Site while identifying the challenges and potential issues facing it. For example the rising visitor numbers over the last decade is having a negative impact however there is lots of opportunity for world-leading research into how to lessen impact of visitors to a small, sensitive location.
We welcome your input and feedback on the draft documents:
- The Management Plan sets out the current and historical context of the World Heritage Site. It will act as an information resource as well as a guiding tool for the Steering Group, other organisations and the community. GCCC WHS Man Plan 2021- 27
- The Action Plan set out a range of activities which support the World Heritage Site. The Steering Group will drive and monitor deliver of this over the next few years and aim to have a positive impact via these actions. GCCC WHS Action Plan 21 – 23
