Twenty-Five years combined commitment to Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust

The Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust charity was established in 2002 as a partnership body devoted to protecting and enhancing the unique natural, built & cultural heritage of the Causeway Coast & Glens.

This includes the Binevenagh Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Causeway Coast & Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the Giants Causeway and Causeway Coast World Heritage Site.  The Trust has representation from Causeway Coast & Glens and Mid & East Antrim councils in partnership with representatives from the environment, the community, the education, the farming, and tourism sectors.

A Board meeting held at the historical location of Hillmount House Larne marked the end of another term of three Trustees.

Cllr Sandra Hunter (UUP) of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has completed a term of April 2012 to June 2023.  As a Board Director (Trustee) she was a member of the Finance and Governance Subcommittee, Giants Causeway and Causeway Coast World Heritage Site Member.  She is an experienced sheep and beef Farmer as well as being a landowner in the Causeway Coast World Heritage Site Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Through her contribution she especially had excellent knowledge of environmental and agricultural practices in protected areas.

Cllr Margaret Anne McKillop (SDLP) of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has completed a term of April 2015 to June 2023.  As a Board Director (Trustee) she was a member of the Finance and Governance Subcommittee Member.  As a resident of the Glens of Antrim, she has provided contribution with excellent community knowledge and is her Party’s Spokesperson for rural opportunities.

Cllr Maureen Morrow (UUP) of Mid & East Antrim Borough Council has completed a term of September 2017 to June 2023.  As a Board Director (Trustee) she was a member of the Finance and Governance Subcommittee Member.  As a resident of the Glens of Antrim, she has provided extensive knowledge and experience in tourism, including the Économusée Network and community engagement.

Board members and staff were delighted to present each with an Audrey Kyle, artist of Islandmagee, print of the local landscape to mark the sincere thanks of their contribution.
